Duties/Responsibilities:
50% Capital Project Management
•Determine Project Scope, Schedule, Costs and Benefits
•Work with the Plant personnel and Finance Group to Develop Cost/Benefit Analysis and Financial Justifications
•Prepare Required Project Funding Documentation; 4 Block Forms, ARs, PDRs
•Develop and Manage the Project Team Consisting of: Internal IG Personnel, Consultants and Contractors
•Specifications and Requisition of all Materials and Contractors – Ensuring That Plant, IG Corporate, OSHA and Federal Policies and Standards are met and maintained
•Checkout of all Equipment Prior to Installation and Startup.
•Project Supervision during the construction and Installation Phases of the project
•Manage the project Commitments and Expenditures to Ensure the Project in On-time and Within Budget
•Assist with the startup and training
•Conduct Project Review Meetings with the project Team, Plant and Upper Management
•Responsible for Project Planning, Development, Equipment Design and Implementation
20% Redcliff Plant Engineering Team Management
•Participate in Plant Safety initiatives and requirements to ensure the Health and Safety of all employees through innovative safety and preventative equipment design and engineering processes.
•Present Project Reviews and Updates to IG Management
•Ensure all Policies and Standards are met and maintained
20% Manage Continuous Improvement Process
•Provide day to day Technical Support to plant personnel
10% Other
•Maintain Engineering Documentation for the Plant
•Support other plant activities such as 5S, energy conservation, root cause analysis, and etc
Provide experience and negotiations skills to obtain the best-cost proposals as they relate to major purchases and contracts. The responsibilities of this position have a direct effect on the Insulation Group capital budget and the plant operating budgets (production costs and efficiencies).
This position provides the technical expertise and leadership in all technical aspects of the manufacturing operations. The position is responsible and accountable for insuring the correct implementation of the IG business plan as it pertains to the Redcliff facility. This responsibility includes the assurance that the latest technology and systems are employed, and that the solutions provided are done in the most cost-effective manner. Utilizing the available knowledge within the plant as well as any outside resources, the position provides complete technical analysis and recommends courses of action for problem solving and process improvement. All engineering activities are monitored to insure that all internal regulations and policies are met and also those of the local, state and federal agencies.
BSc in Engineering is required with 3-5 or more years of project/plant experience in manufacturing/engineering project management. A MBA is a plus. This individual must possess strong technical skills to support all aspects of the manufacturing facility in Redcliff.
This function requires the individual to work under schedule and budget constraints and to coordinate activities with Canadian operations management, IG management, plant management, CRIR and outside resources to execute the work. The function requires the ability to speak and present information to IG corporate and St. Gobain management and legal staff. Strong interpersonal skills in addition to technical skills are a must.
Travel requirements are no more than 10%, but may be on short notice
