Purpose:
Our client is located in Calgary, Alberta, and is a manufacturing facility requiring an experienced Director of Financial Operations. The Director of Financial Operations will require extensive experience in the budgeting process, as well as monthly management account reporting within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Job Functions:
Responsible for all the financial reporting and analysis; provide overall direction for budgeting, forecasting, actual reporting and financial analysis
Responsible for the coordination of all financial planning processes on a quarterly and annual basis and to specific deadlines
Responsible for reporting, and analyzing the manufacturing costs, sales revenue, direct profit, expenses and working capital
Coordinate planning process with various stakeholders
Manage cost accounting staff located in 3 international offices
Review a variety of account reconciliations, investigating and analyzing variances
Prepare monthly inventory and KPI reporting
Review inventory variance accounts and ensuring controls remain in place
Manage standard cost to ensure accurate product cost and inventory valuation
Prepare monthly management report packages
Present monthly variance expenditure reports to the Management Team
Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure annual monitoring is completed
Keep current with changes in financial regulations and legislation's
Provide requested management analysis as required
International travel will be required from time to time
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years post-designation experience
A professional accounting designation (CMA or equivalent)
Excellent presentation skills
Provide financial leadership and counsel to the finance and management team
Strong financial reporting, organizational, communication and analytical skills
Independent, motivated self-starter, able to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
Team player possessing the drive and determination to make a difference; balanced with the skill, patience and tactfulness to accomplish projects in a harmonious manner
High level of computer literacy and excellent knowledge of computer software (Windows, Word, Excel, Internet)
