Manufacturing Cost Accountant

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Standard costing – building, monitoring, forecasting, reporting, analysing including (materials, labour and overhead)
• Must have the ability to analyze and interpret cost figures
• Monitors job costs and provides cost summaries and margin/variance analysis
• Distribute costs between various divisions of production and management
• Review and analyze inventory, expense, cost and variance accounts
• Provide support to R&D/Engineering and Project Managers to track and forecast project costs
• Help to design reports that will streamline processes and reporting functions
• Analysis of production variances and analysis

Required Experience:
• The successful candidate will have completed a post-secondary program in Accounting and be working towards their CMA or CGA designation
• 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Direct experience dealing with shop staff and manufacturing floor operations
• Defense and/or Aviation manufacturing experience is highly preferred
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel and strong database skills
• Experience with an ERP system
• Hands-on attitude
• Must have strong verbal & written communication skills, outgoing and confident personality, and work well independently
