Systems Architect

Olds Fibre Ltd., in it's final stages of launching its FTTH service branded O-NET, is looking for a Systems or Network Engineer to start as soon as possible.

Reporting to the Manager of Network Services, you will be mainly responsible for leading, or assisting with, all Enterprise & Service Communications Systems integration (voice, video, broadband, cloud). You are passionate about leading as well as learning within a highly innovative environment.

This position is best served by your daily, physical presence in Olds, Alberta. Telecommuting or relocation may be considered for the candidate that demonstrates excellence in self-discipline during their first year. This is a permanent full-time employment opportunity. Desired Experience/Skillset

- Apache Software Foundation project involvement
- Hosted On-Demand Architecture experience (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Desktop as a Service experience
- SIP Architecture Integration and management
- WSO2 Experience
- CISCO Switching Experience
- IPV6/dual-stack design, deployment and management

Nice to Have

- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning tools and/or practices
- Solaris Experience
- Experience with Oracle's RDBMS, OLAP and/or Managment systems and tools
- ARM Architectures (Broadcom chipset)
- Broadcast video experience (IPTV, DVB-S, VLC, HLS/streaming)
- Sales and Customer Support excellence
- HTML5 experience

Qualifications

- 5 years of demonstrable skillset and experience or a degree in Systems or Network Engineering
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, work-intensive environment
- ICT/Entertainment industry background would be an asset
- Multilingual fluency skills an asset

Required Experience/Skillset

- Compiling, deploying, and managing Linux server infrastructure (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL, etc.)
- Deploying and managing MS Windows Server infrastructure
- Designing, developing and maintaining JAVA architectures and applications
- Maintaining .NET architectures and applications
- Designing, developing and maintaining HTML, PHP, AJAX, C++/# applications
- Significant ESB architecture-integration design, development, and management experience
- High-availability, critical systems design, monitoring and management
- Enterprise, metro, or carrier IP Network design, deployment and maintenance
- Domain and Firewall design, deployment and management
