Assistant Branch Manager (Retail Banking)

The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is responsible for business development in conjunction with the Branch Manager and for the attainment of all branch sales objectives, and for the supervision of the sales function to ensure a high quality of member sales and service is provided. The ABM is responsible for prudent and sound business practices to protect the assets of the Credit Union and ensure profitable growth. ABM acts as a positive role model for all employees.
Train, motivate and guide staff in the sales area to ensure high quality service is provided to members and that the needs of the organization and the individuals are met
Provide regular one on one coaching sessions with all Personal Bankers (Financial Advisors) as required
Interact competently and courteously with members and staff at all times. Personally recognize and act on opportunities to sell specified products and services and acquire new business
Ensure member complaints and inquiries are addressed promptly and efficiently
Supervise and provide ongoing service and general financial advice to members in the areas of Wealth Management
Manage the development of quality growth to branch goals, keeping in mind all corporate and branch objectives
Develop business connections through external contacts and build referral relationships
A grade twelve (12) education with completion of a business diploma or equivalent program such as Credit Union Institute of Canada (CUIC)
At least five years retail banking experience with a minimum of three years lending experience
Completion of the IFIC Investment Funds course
Good organizational, marketing, delegation, and negotiation skills
A professional background in sales or sales management is desirable
Supervisory experience is essential
Essential knowledge and skills include a sound knowledge of retail banking, bank accounting, and good administration skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively supervise employees and interact with members.
Salary includes Ft. McMurray premium
